A backyard of old stone slabs and big buried rocks turned into a curved Techo-Bloc Blu 60 paver patio. We dug out the rocks, cut the base, hauled in and spread gravel, and laid the pavers.
Project Overview
The back of this Dudley home had an uneven area of old stone slabs, with big rocks buried just under the surface. Before a patio could go in, all of that had to come out.
We brought in the excavator and dug out every big rock and slab, then dug the base for the new patio. Next we hauled in gravel, spread it across the whole area, and compacted it. The grade was checked with a laser level so the finished patio would sit right against the house.
The patio is laid in Techo-Bloc Blu 60 pavers, a large-format slab with a natural stone texture, in a mixed pattern. It runs the full width of the house and sweeps out into a curved edge toward the yard.
You'll notice a small bump-in along the curve. That's where the patio edge goes around the property's sewer cap, so the cap stays accessible.
